Alder Hey - SECTOR

Surgery, Emergency Care, Trauma and Orthopaedic Research

Emergency and acute-care in children is a neglected area of research, often thought too difficult to succeed. SECTOR has led the development of research at the 'front door' of the hospital, by collaborating with clinicians internationally and involving children and families throughout.

Our mission

Our mission is to conduct pioneering research that ensures the best possible outcomes for children affected by urgent surgical illnesses, injuries and emergencies.

We strive to achieve this through active collaboration with broad healthcare teams and through active involvement from children and their families.
